wondering if any of you would host another blind person for several days? let me explain. if, for example you lived in some place near some attraction and another blind person you dont know personly asked you to host them. would you? it is like couch surfen dot com but for blind folks? wouldnt it be great if we could network and visit all over the country should we fancy it? even abroad? who wouldnt want to visit london, paris, rome, italy, and only worry about flight expenses, and not room? just an idea. why not take advantage of the internet to connect, and travel? perhaps we could set up a questionare to weed out the crazy's? lolhowever, i am sure not all the crazy's can affordt to travel abroad. security would be an issue i am certain. personality traits, good manners, i am shure we could come up with a comprehensive questionare to match up potential hosts and travelers. so? what do you think?
Awesome idea!
Yes, I'd host, and I'd love to do some traveling, too.
This definitely should be pursued, and organized.
I agree with you guys..I'd hoste..no problem! Getting it organized though I honestly wouldn't know where to start.
perhaps we can start by creating a quistionar of some sorts? then an application asking for basic information? state/country/province/ ect...any allergies to any animals...any medical conditions in case of an emergancy...ect..? just a thought
But why wouldn't we just want to have sighted hosts? Why would we only want to lodge with blind travellers?
i don't know if i would do that. the risk is to high and the chance of getting a crazy is even higher around here. lol. your right, the chance to see the world is a hell of a thought. How much travel do you actually do?
You wouldn't *only* want blind hosts, but such an option would certainly remove some of the stress of having to explain blindness to your hosts, prevent all those aggravating questions, and your hosts could possibly give you tips on travel, in the place you're visiting, tips that would be geared to a blind traveler.
its an interesting thought... i do enough traveling for my job but hosting someone might be cool. it would be something i would have to really think about.
Viletblue has a great point!
